Liz Weselby

Archetype: General Manager, Hong Kong

Liz Weselby is the deputy managing director at Archetype Hong Kong.

Liz joined Archetype after a two-decade career in publishing that began with Hearst UK when magazines like Harpers and Esquire were in their heyday. In 2003 she left London for Bangkok, and 18 years and three countries later, considers Asia to be home.

Liz thrives on working with people from different cultures and diverse backgrounds and has led teams in Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong. She launched a weekend supplement for the Bangkok Post, and co-founded a custom publishing company working with retail and hospitality clients. In Singapore she was editorial director at inflight media agency Ink Global, and continued to invest in her love of travel by moving to LUXE City Guides in Hong Kong. Liz joined Archetype in February 2020.

An advocate for age and gender equity and inclusion, Liz was a mentor on The Women's Foundation’s Hong Kong Mentoring Program 2018-19 and currently sits on the program’s Advisory Council. She’s an avid hiker, trail runner and even after 20 months of being grounded, continues to discover new corners of Hong Kong.

Since her arrival at Archetype, Liz has been working with the regional leadership team to implement the "Archetype Way", a set of initiatives to support its employees with their wellbeing, personal growth and adapt to the new normal.
